kitchen hardware | new house

Thursday, January 9, 2014

Last week I finally made up my mind about what hardware to go with in the new kitchen.  I've flipped back one too many fingernails pulling open drawers without pulls or knobs in the house we're in right now.  I decided I needed to have hardware ready to install the day we close on the house.

Here's the latest picture I have of the kitchen from last night (pendants will be switched out to these).

These are the images I keep going back to for hardware inspiration.

I ordered Aubrey pulls from RH for the drawers on the main white cabinet drawers.

And Gilmore pulls for a set of three drawers on the black island.

I snapped them up when they had 20% off, so I'm feeling pretty good about the purchase.  I'll pick up some simple knobs at Home Depot or Lowes for the cabinet doors.  Mix in a little low with the high.  Maybe something like this.

I've definitely not reinvented the wheel here by any means, but I'm excited.  Classic just can't be beat!

  2. Your new kitchen is just beautiful, Shelley! I am with you - can't go wrong with classics. I installed bin pulls in my kitchen and LOVE them. They are just about the only thing that will stay when we renovate. Hope you're having fun with the house building process!

  3. The bin pulls are my all-time fave. I love, love, love them. The cheapy ones we got at Ikea for our kitchen are super-fantastic - can't complain one bit. We have knobs on the cupboards like that simple one. They were out last time we were there, so I'm headed to Ikea today to hopefully get the four we're missing. And a rug for The Kid's room that will be completely made over before the weekend is up. Eeeeee. So excited. :)

  6. Choosing the right hardware might be small task to be done, but is very important in maintaining the beauty of your kitchen. When you don't have the appropriate handles for your cabinets and drawers, they'll look lifeless and boring. Great choices of hardware, Shelley! Will be looking forward to seeing your finished kitchen. :)
