before I color my dining room

Monday, April 9, 2012

Tomorrow I'll be doing my post for the Color My World Challenge.  This week I'll be adding hot pink in the form of a decor item.

I've moved things around in my dining room since the last time I posted about it (during my chandelier meltdown) and I thought I'd show you how it looks today, prior to the color challenge.

Here we are before the switch up.

And here's where it currently stands - still a work in progress.

  • new chandelier
  • removed slipcovers from chairs and rearranged head chairs
  • removed hutch and added some accessories top of buffet
  • added mirror and photos in place of hutch
  • painted piano (more on that later)

There are still a TON of things I need/want to do aside from the challenge.  But, this gives you an idea of what it looks like currently, prior to the challenge.

Notice how there's missing hardware on the buffet?  Yeah, that's on the to-do list as well.  The more I cross of the list, the longer it gets.  Does that happen to you guys too?

  1. Love the changes and the new Chandelier!

    Mrs. Delightful

  2. It looks so different without the hutch... I can't wait to see the finished product!

  3. The chandelier looks fantastic! And I cannot wait to see the pops of pink.....i think it is going to be great!

  4. I'm dying - dying - dying over that chandelier! I don't think it turned out to be too big at all - especially because it's so open - how do you like it in the space? I just love it!!!
Your mirror & pictures in place of the hutch are fantastic too....the light bounces off of the mirror so well. The pink is going to be fab in this room - I can't wait to see it!!

  5. I love all the changes you made. Is that the Crystorama chandelier? I have a small version that may be making an appearance in my challenge. Can't wait to see where you add the pink!

  6. I LOVE your zebra chairs! I'm looking forward to seeing the painted piano. I painted mine last summer and I'm SOOO glad I did.

  7. Loving that new light fixture! And, those curtains are great!

  8. I love that chandelier. Did you get it in large or small? Thanks

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, you guys totally make my day!
